Vanna Bonta (1958–2014) was an Italian-American novelist, poet, and actress.

Born in Clarksville, Tennessee, Bonta was the author of three collections of poems and Flight: A Quantum Fiction Novel (1995;) it is considered the first definitive work of the “quantum fiction” literary genre. One of her stories was purchased for Star Trek: The Next Generation (1994.)

Bonta makes a cameo appearance as the superhero’s young mother, Zed’s Queen, in the fantasy classic The Beastmaster (1982.) As a voice actor, she played multiple roles in numerous films, including Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (1991.)

Bonta was also the inventor of the 2suit, a garment for the microgravity environments of space.
