Inspirational Quotes by Fannie Flagg (American Comedian, Novelist)

Fannie Flagg (b.1941,) born Patricia Neal, is an American actress, comedian, and novelist. She took her pseudonym not as a pen name but as a stage name; there was already a famous actress with her name when Flagg became a morning show host.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Flagg studied acting at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. She began her career as a television writer for Candid Camera (1964,) then as a frequent panelist on Match Game (the 1970s.) On Broadway, she was featured in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1980.)

Flagg came to prominence as a writer with her bestselling novel, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe (1987,) which remained on the New York Times bestseller list for 36 weeks. Flagg collaborated with screenwriter Carol Sobieski to adapt this novel into the comedy-drama film Fried Green Tomatoes (1991.) Flagg and Sobieski also wrote the screenplays for the movies Coming Attractions (1981,) Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man (1992) and Welcome to the World, Baby Girl! (1998.)
