Inspirational Quotes by Nolini Kanta Gupta (Indian Hindu Revolutionary)

Nolini Kanta Gupta (1889–1984) was an Indian revolutionary, mystic, poet, and philosopher. A close disciple of Sri Aurobindo and Mirra Alfassa (“The Mother,”) he was a notable exponent of Integral yoga, Sri Aurobindo’s yoga-based philosophy, and spiritual practice.

Born in Faridpur, East Bengal, to a cultured and reputed family, Gupta joined a revolutionary struggle against British rule. In 1910, he moved to Pondicherry as an associate of Sri Aurobindo. When the Aurobindo Āśram opened in 1926, Gupta settled there and served as the āśram’s secretary for more than fifty years.

A prolific writer on a variety of philosophical topics, Gupta wrote fifty books in Bengali, thirty in English, and five in French. He collected The Yoga of Sri Aurobindo (1939,) wrote an interpretation of Sri Aurobindo’s celebrated epic Savitri, and compiled Mirra Alfassa and Sri Aurobindo’s many lectures, and teachings.

Gupta’s other notable works include Evolution and the Earthly Destiny (1976) and Towards the Light (1944.)
