Inspirational Quotes by B. H. Liddell Hart (English Military Journalist, Historian)

B. H. Liddell Hart (1895–1970,) fully Sir Basil Henry Liddell Hart, was a British military journalist and historian. He developed principles of mobile warfare, which were adopted by both sides during World War II.

Born in Paris, Liddell Hart was educated at St Paul’s and Cambridge, and served in World War I, retiring from the army in 1927. He was responsible for various tactical developments during the war and wrote the postwar official manual of Infantry Training (1920.)

Invalided in 1924, Liddell Hart became military correspondent to the Daily Telegraph (1925–35) and The Times (1935–39.) In 1937, he relinquished his position as personal adviser to the Minister of War to publicize the need for the rapid development of airpower and mechanized warfare.

Liddell Hart wrote more than 30 books on warfare and biographies of Ferdinand Foch, T E Lawrence, and others.
