Inspirational Quotes by Bo Lozoff (American Humanitarian)

Bo Lozoff (1947–2012) was an American musician, writer, and interfaith humanitarian. He sought ways to reintegrate former prisoners into society. Lozoff authored self-help books, including It’s a Meaningful Life, It Just Takes Practice (2000) and The Wonderful Life of a Fly Who Couldn’t Fly (2002.)

Born in Miami, Florida, Lozoff co-founded several non-profits, including the Hanuman Foundation. He served as the prison-ashram project director (1973–87) and the interfaith Human Kindness Foundation (s.1987.)

Lozoff’s organizations sent free interfaith books, compact discs, and correspondence to prisoners worldwide. He also founded an environmental non-profit, Carolina Biodiesel, for the dual purposes of promoting biodiesel and creating jobs for ex-cons.

In 2008, several ex-parolees and volunteers charged Lozoff with sexual and emotional abuse, resulting in the shutting down of Kindness House.

But kindness is the greatest need in all those areas — kindness toward the environment, toward other nations, toward the needs of people who are suffering. Until we reflect basic kindness in everything we do, our political gestures will be fleeting and fragile. Simple kindness may be the most vital key to the riddle of how human beings can live with each other in peace, and care properly for this planet we all share.”
