Inspirational Quotes by Ramachandra Guha (Indian Historian)

Ramachandra Guha (b.1958) is an Indian social historian, environmentalist, and writer.

Born in Dehra Dun, in Uttar Pradesh, India, Guha did not train as a historian but did his bachelor’s and master’s in economics before researching the social history of forestry in northern India. He has held academic positions in India, Europe, and the United States. His notable books on social history are India after Gandhi (2007,) Makers of Modern India (2010,) and Gandhi before India (2013.)

Guha is the author of Varieties of Environmentalism: Essays North and South (1997) and How Much Should a Person Consume? (2006) and other books that deal with the social and environmental concerns of his native India.

Guha’s books on cricket include A Corner of a Foreign Field: The Indian History of a British Sport (2002) and The Picador Book of Cricket (2001.)
