Sharon Lynn Begley (1956–2021) was an American science journalist. She was considered one of the pre-eminent science writers of her generation.

Born in Englewood, New Jersey, Begley graduated from Yale University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in combined sciences. She started her career as a researcher at Newsweek in 1977 and worked as a science journalist for Newsweek (1981–2002,) The Wall Street Journal (2002 to 2007,) Newsweek (2007 to 2011,) and Reuters (2012–15.)

Begley’s works include The Mind and the Brain: Neuroplasticity and the Power of Mental Force (2002,) Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain (2007,) The Emotional Life of Your Brain (2012,) and Can’t Just Stop: An Investigation of Compulsions (2017.)
