Tyra Banks (b.1973,) fully Tyra Lynne Banks, is an American fashion model and television personality. She is best known as the face of the cosmetics company CoverGirl and the American retailer Victoria’s Secret. She is also known for her daily television show The Tyra Banks Show (2005–10) and for hosting the modeling competition series America’s Next Top Model (2003–15, 2017–.)

Born in Inglewood, California, Banks was “discovered” at age seventeen. She worked for many designers and appeared in many product advertisements. She has been on the covers of almost all the major women’s and fashion magazines. Besides being named Supermodel of the Year in 2007, Banks was ranked in “the Time 100” twice (2006 and 2007.)
