Inspirational Quotes by David B. Haight (American Mormon Leader)

David Bruce Haight (1906–2004) was an American Mormon leader. He was the eldest member of a high-ranking body of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as mayor of Palo Alto, California, 1959–63.

Born in Oakley, Idaho, Haight received a degree from Utah State University and served as a commander in the Navy during World War II. During a long career, he was an executive at various department stores and an assistant to the president of Brigham Young University. He was the proprietor of the Palo Alto Hardware store and served as mayor of Palo Alto, California. Moving to Utah, Haight became an assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve in 1970 and an Apostle in 1976.

As a member (1976–2004) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Mormon Church’s top leadership, Haight oversaw the church’s global missionary effort and helped outreach to other faiths.
