Ben Hogan (1912–97,) fully William Benjamin Hogan, was an American golfer. Born in Dublin, Texas, Hogan became the first person in 26 years to win all three major U.S. titles in 1948. Despite an automobile accident in 1949, he returned to win three of the four major golf titles in 1953 (U.S. Open, U.S. Masters, and British Open.) He won the U.S. Open four times (1948, 1950–51, 1953) before retiring in 1970.
