Inspirational Quotes by James Hamilton (Scottish Protestant Minister)

James Hamilton (1814–67) was a Scottish Presbyterian minister, epigrammist, and prolific author of religious pamphlets. A hobby botanist, he also published several journal articles on the subject.

Born in Paisley, outside of Glasgow, Scotland, Hamilton studied at Glasgow and Edinburgh. After serving in two parishes in Scotland, Hamilton became pastor of the National Scotch Church in London’s Regent Square in 1841 and remained there until his death. He also served as editor of the Presbyterian Messenger and the Evangelical Christendom.

Hamilton was the author of some of the most widely circulated books of his day. His notable works included Life in Earnest (1845,) The Mount of Olives (1846,) and Our Christian Classics (4 vols., 1857–59.)
