Inspirational Quotes by David Attenborough (English Naturalist, Broadcaster)

Sir David Frederick Attenborough (b.1926) is an English naturalist, writer, and broadcaster. He is renowned as one of the world’s most respected and popular wildlife documentary makers.

Born in London, Attenborough is the younger brother of filmmaker Richard Attenborough. After service in the Royal Navy (1947–49) and three years as an editorial assistant in an educational publishing house, David joined the BBC in 1952 as a trainee producer. For the series Zoo Quest (1954–64,) he developed the concept of filming animals in their natural habitats. He made expeditions to remote parts of the globe to capture intimate footage of rare wildlife.

Attenborough took organizational roles in BBC2 between 1965 and 1972 before returning to making documentaries. He won critical acclaim for such series as Life on Earth (1979,) The Living Planet (1984,) The First Eden (1987,) Lost Worlds, Vanished Lives (1989,) The Trials of Life (1990,) Life in the Freezer (l993,) The Private life of Plants (1995) and The Life of Birds (1998.)

Attenborough also narrated The Blue Planet (2001) and Planet Earth (2006.) He narrated but did not write Blue Planet II (2017;) for his narration, Attenborough earned an Emmy Award.

Attenborough’s books include Zoo Quest to Guiana (1956,) The Tribal Eye (1976,) and The Life of Birds (1998.)

But although denying that we have a special position in the natural world might seem becomingly modest in the eye of eternity, it might also be used as an excuse for evading our responsibilities.
