Inspirational Quotes by Bob Woodward (American Journalist)

Bob Woodward (b.1943,) fully Robert Upshur Woodward, is an American investigative journalist. He earned a Pulitzer with Carl Bernstein for The Washington Post in 1973 for his investigative reporting on the Watergate scandal. Woodward is the author of 19 other books on American politics, 13 of which have topped best-seller lists.

Born in Geneva, Illinois, Woodward studied at Yale and, following service as a communications officer in the U.S. Navy, began his career in 1970 at the Montgomery County Sentinel in Maryland. In 1971, he became a reporter at the Washington Post.

In 1972–73, along with fellow Washington Post reporter Carl Bernstein, Woodward covered the burglary at the Watergate apartment complex (1972.) The cover-up led to a constitutional crisis and the resignation of President Nixon in August 1974. Woodward and Bernstein’s work won the newspaper a Pulitzer, and their names became synonymous with investigative journalism. Their book, All the President’s Men (1974; film, 1976,) topped best-seller lists.

A highly regarded commentator on American politics, Woodward has remained at the Post, where he became assistant managing editor in 1981. His many bestselling books include Veil: The Secret Wars of the CIA (1987) and Bush at War (2002,) Obama’s Wars (2010,) The Price of Politics (2012,) and In Fear: Trump in the White House (2018.)
