Robert De Niro (b.1943) is an American actor, producer, and director. He has appeared in more than 60 movies during a 40-year career.

Together with director Martin Scorsese, a teenage acquaintance from the streets of his native New York City, De Niro made a series of films that have become prominent American classics, including Mean Streets (1973,) Taxi Driver (1976,) Raging Bull (1980,) King of Comedy (1983,) and GoodFellas (1990.)

De Niro’s other prominent movies include Bang the Drum Slowly (1973,) The Godfather Part II (1974,) The Deer Hunter (1978,) A Bronx Tale (1993; which he directed,) and Meet the Fockers (2004.)
