Inspirational Quotes by David Mitchell (British Comedian)

David James Stuart Mitchell (b.1974) is a British comedian, actor, writer, and television personality, best known for his work in the sitcom Peep Show (2003–15) and as a team captain on the panel show Would I Lie to You? (s.2007.) His sharp wit, deadpan delivery, and incisive commentary have made him one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary British comedy.

Born in Salisbury, Wiltshire, Mitchell grew up in Oxford, where his parents were lecturers. He attended Abingdon School before studying history at Peterhouse, Cambridge. At Cambridge, he joined the Footlights comedy club, where he met Robert Webb, forming a partnership that would define much of his career. Their early collaboration led to the sketch show Bruiser (2000) and later That Mitchell and Webb Situation (2001.)

Mitchell and Webb’s breakthrough came with Peep Show (2003–15,) a Channel 4 sitcom that won critical acclaim and a BAFTA Award in 2008. Mitchell’s portrayal of the neurotic Mark Corrigan became iconic.The duo also created That Mitchell and Webb Look (2006–10,) which showcased their surreal sketch comedy. Beyond this partnership, Mitchell became a staple of British panel shows, notably Would I Lie to You? (s.2007,) QI (s.2003,) and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year. He also hosted The Bubble (2010) and appeared in Upstart Crow (2016–20,) a sitcom about Shakespeare.

Mitchell’s publications include Thinking About It Only Makes It Worse (2014,) a collection of his newspaper columns, and Dishonesty Is the Second-Best Policy (2019,) which compiles essays on politics and culture.
