Inspirational Quotes by Mia Hamm (American Soccer Player)

Mia Hamm (b.1972,) fully Mariel Margaret Hamm-Garciaparra, is an American soccer player. She is considered the most outstanding female footballer in history. She played for teams that won two Olympic medals and the Women’s World Cup.

Born in Selma, Alabama, Hamm was a member of the successful University of North Carolina women’s team. She began to play for the U.S. national women’s soccer team in 1987, becoming the youngest player ever to be that team’s member.

Hamm led the United States to victories in the 1991 and 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup competitions and was in the side that won gold at the Atlanta Olympics (1996) and silver in the Sydney Olympics (2000.) Chosen FIFA World Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002, she finished her career with an outstanding record of 158 goals in 276 games, the most by any player, male or female. Her final triumph was another team gold at the Athens Olympics (2004.)
