Inspirational Quotes by Paul Harvey (American Broadcaster)

Paul Harvey (1918–2009,) fully Paul Harvey Aurandt, was a conservative American radio broadcaster for ABC News Radio. He was celebrated for his staccato delivery and his conservative but individualistic opinions on current events. He enjoyed almost unparalleled longevity as America’s most listened-to radio broadcaster, with an audience of some 25 million people on more than 1,200 stations nationwide.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harvey began working at a local radio station while still in high school and had jobs in Kansas, Oklahoma, and St Louis, Missouri. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, he moved to Chicago and began broadcasting for the Chicago radio station WENR.

Paul Harvey News and Comment, broadcast on weekday mornings and mid-days and at noon on Saturdays, proved immediately popular in Chicago and was nationally syndicated by the American Broadcasting Company in 1951. From 1952–2008, his programs reached as many as 24 million people per week. In 1976, the program spun off The Rest of the Story.

Harvey also appeared regularly as a television and newspaper commentator and published several books, including Remember These Things (1952,) Autumn of Liberty (1954,) You Said It, Paul Harvey (1970,) and For What It’s Worth (1991.)
