Curtis Leroy Carlson (1914–99) was an American businessman. He was the founder of the Carlson Companies conglomerate, which includes the Carlson and Radisson Hotel Group.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carlson graduated with B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1937 and started a career with Procter and Gamble. In 1938, he founded the Gold Bond Stamp Company to equip grocery stores with consumer loyalty incentives. In 1960, he purchased the downtown Minneapolis Radisson Hotel and built it into a national chain.

Carlson’s empire included TGI Fridays, Carlson Leisure Group, and over 100 other hospitality businesses, with operations in more than 140 countries and over $22 billion in annual revenues. The Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota is named for him.
