Kabbalah (also Kabbala, Cabala, Qabalah, Cabbala) is a Hebrew word meaning “tradition.” The term was used initially to portray the entire Jewish tradition but was claimed for exclusive use by the Kabbalists to refer to their particular mystical doctrine.
