Ruth Graham (1920–2007,) fully Ruth McCue Bell Graham, was an American Christian author. She was the wife of American evangelist Billy Graham.
Born to medical missionaries in Qingjiang, Jiangsu, China, Graham studied at Pyeng Yang Foreign School in Pyongyang, Korea. She completed her high school education at Montreat, North Carolina, and graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois.
The Grahams met at Wheaton College and were married in the summer of 1943, shortly after their graduation, and lived most of their lives in Montreat, North Carolina. In 1966, Graham founded the Ruth and Billy Graham Children’s Health Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
A Christian poet and writer, Graham produced 14 books, and she was a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines. Her notable works include Our Christmas Story (1959,) Prodigals and Those Who Love Them (1991,) One Wintry Night (1994,) Footprints of a Pilgrim: The Life and Loves of Ruth Bell Graham (2001,) and A Quiet Knowing (2001.)
American crime writer Patricia Cornwell wrote the biography Ruth, A Portrait: The story of Ruth Bell Graham (1998.)
