Inspirational Quotes by Khaled Hosseini (Afghan-American Author)

Khaled Hosseini (b.1965) is an Afghan-born American novelist and physician. He is known for his vivid depictions of Afghanistan, most notably in The Kite Runner (2003.)

Born in Kabul, Hosseini immigrated to America following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979. He attended Santa Clara University, studied medicine at the University of California-San Diego, and entered private practice as an internist in 1996.

Hosseini’s first novel, The Kite Runner (2003,) was a word-of-mouth bestseller. It has sold millions of copies around the world, and a film adaptation was released in 2007. Also, in 2007, he published A Thousand Splendid Suns, and it was an international bestseller as well. It tells the story of two women in Kabul who are both wives of the same cruel man.

And the Mountains Echoed (2013) concerns a brother and sister separated when the latter is given up for adoption because of their family’s straitened circumstances.

Hosseini’s most recent work is the illustrated short story Sea Prayer (2018;) it draws on the highly publicized death of a three-year-old Syrian refugee who drowned in the Mediterranean in 2015.
