Brandon Winn Sanderson (b.1975) is an American author renowned for his contributions to the fantasy and science fiction genres. He is particularly recognized for creating the expansive Cosmere fictional universe, within which the majority of his fantasy novels unfold, including the well-regarded Mistborn series and The Stormlight Archive.
Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Sanderson earned his B.A. from Brigham Young University in 2000, followed by an M.A. in English with a focus on creative writing in 2004.
Sanderson made his literary debut with Elantris (2005,) followed by the critically acclaimed Mistborn series, which kicked off with Mistborn: The Final Empire (2006.) This series is celebrated for its engaging narrative and innovative approach to magic. Another highlight of his bibliography is The Stormlight Archive commencing with The Way of Kings (2010,) known for its intricate plots and well-developed characters. Sanderson’s storytelling prowess is further evident in works such as Warbreaker (2009) and the Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians series.
