Inspirational Quotes by John A. Appleman (American lawyer, Encyclopedist)

John Alan Appleman (1912–82) was an American lawyer, poet, and encyclopedist.

Born in Webster Groves, Missouri, Appleman obtained a B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1933 and a J.D. in 1935. He returned to school in 1950 to earn an M.A. degree.

For much of his career, Appleman was a practicing attorney who specialized in trial work and authored numerous books on legal practice. He contributed to the Encyclopedia Britannica, World Book Encyclopedia, and the Tort and Medical Yearbook. He also wrote hundred articles on legal and other subjects for Reader’s Digest, The Rotarian, and Woman’s Day. Additionally, he published poetry under the pennames Bill Daley and James St. David Montrose.
