Eva Le Gallienne (1899–1991) was a British-born American stage actress, producer, director, translator, and author. A versatile and eloquent actress, she was one of the outstanding figures of the 20th-century American stage, noted for her boldness and idealism.

Born in London, the daughter of English author and poet Richard Le Gallienne, she was brought up in Paris. She débuted in London in Monna Vanna (1914) before studying for a year under English actor and theatre manager Herbert Beerbohm Tree and moving to New York.

A Broadway star by age 21, Le Gallienne consciously ended her work on Broadway to devote herself to founding the Civic Repertory Theatre of New York. She directed the theater, directing and acting in most of the 37 plays produced there before it closed in 1935. She was also co-founder and director of the American Repertory Theater (1946–48.) She acted until the early 1980s and was renowned for her Chekhovian roles.
