Inspirational Quotes by John Mason Brown (American Drama Critic)

John Mason Brown (1900–69) was an American drama critic, biographer, anthologist, lecturer and television panelist. He was a columnist for the Saturday Review.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Brown graduated from Harvard College in 1923 and wrote for Theater Arts Monthly (1924–29) and The New York Evening Post (1929–41.) After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he wrote the popular Seeing Things at Night (later Seeing Things) column for Saturday Review (1944–64.)

Brown hosted the CBS Of Men and Books program (1944–47) was a panelist and critic on The Last Word (1957–58.) His works include The Modern Theatre in Revolt (1929,) Accused as I Am (1942,) Many a Watchful Night (1944,) Seeing Things (1946,) Critic at Large (1948,) As They Appear (1952,) Morning Faces (1949,) and Dramatis Personae (1963.)
