Inspirational Quotes by Michael Porter (American Management Theorist)

Michael Porter (b.1947,) fully Michael Eugene Porter, is an American management theorist and academic. He is celebrated for creating Porter’s five forces analysis and Porter’s four corners models, contributing much to today’s business strategy development methods.

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Porter trained as an economist at Princeton and Harvard Business School. He became a lecturer at Harvard (1973) and subsequently a professor (1982.) He earned celebrity as a lecturer and consultant to many leading organizations worldwide and several governments. Since, 2001 Porter has been a University Professor at Harvard, the most distinguished academic position there.

Porter was one of the founders of the consulting firms The Monitor Group (now part of Deloitte) and FSG (a social impact consultancy.) Porter’s many publications include Competitive Strategy (1980) and The Competitive Advantage of Nations (1990.)
