James F. Lincoln (1883–1965) was an American engineer and businessman. He was CEO of Lincoln Electric 1914–65, a pioneer in arc welding.

Born near Painesville, Ohio, Lincoln studied electrical engineering at Ohio State University, leaving without a degree in 1907 due to typhoid fever. Lincoln shifted the company from custom-designed to standardized products and focused on innovation in arc welding. An inventor, Lincoln received 20 patents for technological advancements that made arc welding a reliable and commercially viable method of joining metals.

Lincoln also initiated an employee advisory board that helped manage relations between workers and management and a piecework pay scale that enabled workers to earn higher wages based on performance. He also developed a worker incentive plan with bonuses, free life insurance, and paid vacations.
