Nigella Lucy Lawson (b.1960) is an English food writer and television cook known for her bestselling cookbooks and captivating on-screen presence. Her rich, approachable style and focus on simple, indulgent cooking have made her a favorite in kitchens around the world.

Born in London, she is the daughter of former Chancellor Nigel Lawson and the sister of editor Dominic Lawson. She studied at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, before starting a career in journalism. In 1985, she began writing a restaurant column for The Spectator and became deputy literary editor of The Sunday Times in 1986.

Lawson’s first cookbook, How to Eat (1998,) became a bestseller. She followed it with How to Be a Domestic Goddess (2000,) winning the British Book Award for Author of the Year. She also hosted television shows such as Nigella Feasts (2006) and Nigella’s Christmas Kitchen (2007,) bringing her distinct voice and style to a global audience.
