Madam C.J. Walker (1867–1919,) née Sarah Breedlove, was an African American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and political and social activist. Her Madame C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company produced and distributed a line of hair and beauty preparations for black women. She was one of the first African American female millionaires in the United States.
