Inspirational Quotes by Patricia Neal (American Actress)

Patricia Neal (1926–2010,) in full Patsy Louise Neal, was an American stage and movie actress. An award-winning actress, she is celebrated for her brilliant performances of tough-minded, independent women.

Born in Packard, Virginia, Neal studied drama at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She worked as a model before making her Broadway début in The Voice of the Turtle (1946.) Joining the New York Actors Studio, she won a Tony award for Another Part of the Forest (1946) and made her film début in John Loves Mary (1949.) She won acclaim for her roles in A Face In The Crowd (1957) and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961.)

Neal suffered several massive strokes in 1965. However, her long, hard recovery was remarkable, and she returned to acting in 1968. Among the many movies in which she appeared were Hud (1963; Best Actress Academy Award,) The Subject Was Roses (1968,) Homecoming (1971,) Things in Their Season (1974,) and Cookie’s Fortune (1999.) Neal’s autobiography is As I Am (1988.)
