Inspirational Quotes by Andrew Vachss (American Attorney, Author)

Andrew Henry Vachss (1942–2021) was an American attorney and crime fiction author. He dedicated his entire law career to representing children and youths. His best-selling novels are rooted in his jobs running prisons and youth detention centers to protect children from abuse.

Born in Manhattan, New York, Vachss graduated from Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1965. His first job was as a field investigator on a syphilis task force for the U.S. Public Health Service.

After doing humanitarian work in Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War, Vachss pursued his education as a lawyer, graduating from the New England School of Law in 1975 and opening his practice and working as a Chicago community organizer.

In addition to holding various positions in the criminal justice field, Vachss was the author of 33 novels and three collections of short stories and poetry, plays, song lyrics, and graphic novels. He is most famous for his hardboiled mysteries Flood (1985,) Batman: The Ultimate Evil (1995,) Dead and Gone (2000,) Another Life (2008,) and Blackjack: A Cross Novel (2012.)
