Julian McMahon (1968–2025,) fully Julian Dana William McMahon, was an Australian-American actor and model known for his sleek intensity, charismatic screen presence, and a career that spanned television, film, and international modeling.
Born in Sydney, McMahon was the son of former Australian Prime Minister William McMahon and philanthropist Lady Sonia McMahon. He briefly studied law at the University of Sydney and economics at the University of Wollongong before leaving academia, drawn instead to modeling, which took him to London, Milan, and New York. His transition to acting began with Australian television, including Home and Away (1989–90) and Profiler (1996–2000,) before he moved into major U.S. roles.
He became widely recognized for roles that blended charm with moral ambiguity, most famously Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck (2003–10) and the demon-turned-antihero Cole Turner in Charmed (2000–03.) His film work included blockbuster portrayals such as Victor Von Doom in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007.) His later career included performances in Premonition (2007,) Red (2010,) Runaways (2017–19,) and his lead role as Jess LaCroix in FBI: Most Wanted (2020–22.)
