Roselle Mercier Montgomery (1874–1933) was an American poet from the state of Georgia. Her work delved into themes of nature and the human experience, and her literary contributions garnered a modest but devoted following.

Born in Crawfordville, Taliaferro County, Georgia, Montgomery pursued her education at Washington (Georgia) Female Seminary and Mary Baldwin Seminary in Staunton, Virginia. Following her marriage to the distinguished New York lawyer, John Seymour Montgomery, she settled down in Riverside, Connecticut.

Montgomery’s poetic acclaim rests on a lasting legacy of remarkable works, which include the well-known pieces “Ulysses Returns,” “To Helen,” “Middle-Aged,” and “Evening on a Village Street.” She also contributed poems and stories to various newspapers and magazines. Her collections of poetry include Ulysses Returns, and Other Poems (1925) and Many Devices (1929.)
