Larry Bossidy (b.1935,) fully Lawrence Arthur Bossidy, is a retired American business executive and author of leadership books.
Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Bossidy studied economics at Colgate University, where he played baseball. He joined General Electric (GE) in 1957 and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming right-hand man to CEO Jack Welch as GE’s vice-chairman 1984–91.
In 1991, Bossidy left GE to become CEO of AlliedSignal, and CEO of Honeywell in 1999, when AlliedSignal acquired Honeywell. Bossidy retired in April 2000 but returned to lead Honeywell again 2001–02.
Together with the Indian-American business consultant Ram Charan, Bossidy authored the popular leadership books Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done (2002) and Confronting Reality: Doing What Matters to Get Things Right (2004.)
