James Randolph Adams (1898–1956) was an American advertising executive. He was the founder, president, and chairperson of McManus, John & Adams Inc.

Adams is considered one of the creative giants in the field of automotive advertising. He wrote and supervised advertisements for Cadillac for 30 years during the car’s period of most considerable growth in reputation and production.

Adams’s two best-selling books, More Power to Advertising (1937) and Sparks Off My Anvil (1958,) remain popular books on advertising psychology.
