Inspirational Quotes by David Frost (English Broadcaster, Writer)

Sir David Paradine Frost (1939–2013) was an English talk-show host, journalist, and writer. His lengthy career stretched from pioneering 60s satire to heavyweight interviews and celebrity game shows. He was especially celebrated for his interviews of public figures—in 1977, former U.S. President Richard Nixon, who, under Frost’s intelligent questioning, unexpectedly apologized for the Watergate scandal.

Born in Tenterden, Kent, Frost studied history at Cambridge, where he became active in the Footlights Dramatic Club and exhibited a talent for satire. His first attained recognition on BBC TV’s That Was the Week That Was (1962–64,) a late-night revue with contemporary satire and a sassy attitude to authority. It was succeeded by Not So Much a Programme, More a Way of Life (1964–65.)

By 1966, Frost was the host of The Frost Report, the first of a series of eponymous TV series, culminating in Frost Over the World, which débuted in 2007. Frost was a celebrated interviewer, with access to newsmakers from the world of politics, sports, and entertainment. His famous dialogues include The Nixon Interviews (1976–77) and The Shah Speaks (1980.)

Frost was also a co-founder of London Weekend Television and Britain’s TV-am. His shows on U.S. television include The Spitting Image Movie Awards (1987) and The Spectacular World of Guinness Records (1987–88.)

Frost wrote several books, including How to Live Under Labour (1964,) I Gave Them a Sword (1978,) and The World’s Shortest Books (1987.) He published his first volume of autobiography, From Congregations to America in 1993.
