Inspirational Quotes by Lemuel K. Washburn (American Freethought Writer)

Lemuel Kelley Washburn (1846–1927) was an American Freethought writer. He published various atheist articles and was an editor for the Boston Investigator, the first American newspaper dedicated to the philosophy of freethought.

Washburn was the compiler of Cosmian Hymn Book: A Collection of Original and Selected Hymns (1888,) promoted as “perfectly free from all sectarianism.” His other works include America’s Debt to Thomas Paine (1878,) Is the Bible Worth Reading (1911,) and The Miracles of Jesus and Other Essays (1917.)
