Reese Witherspoon (b.1976,) fully Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, is an American actress, producer, and entrepreneur known for her versatility and commitment to female-driven storytelling. She has won an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy, and two Golden Globes, establishing herself as a Hollywood powerhouse.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she began acting as a teenager in The Man in the Moon (1991.) She gained fame with Election (1999,) Legally Blonde (2001,) and Sweet Home Alabama (2002.) Her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line (2005) won her an Academy Award for Best Actress. She later starred in Wild (2014,) Big Little Lies (2017–19,) and The Morning Show (2019–present.)
Beyond acting, Witherspoon founded Hello Sunshine, a production company championing women’s stories, and launched Reese’s Book Club.
