Andrew Alexander Bonar (1810–92) was a Scottish minister, theologian, and author who played a key role in the Free Church of Scotland. Renowned for his Christian literature, he dedicated his life to missionary work and theological education, shaping generations of ministers and believers.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he studied theology at the University of Edinburgh. Ordained in 1838, Bonar became a close associate of Robert Murray M’Cheyne, a fellow preacher and revivalist.
