Zachary E. Posen (b.1980) is an American fashion designer known for glamorous evening gowns, structured silhouettes, and innovative craftsmanship. His designs have been worn by Hollywood stars, royalty, and fashion icons, making him a leading figure in modern couture.
Born in New York City, Posen developed a passion for fashion early, enrolling in Parsons School of Design’s pre-college program at 16. He later studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, where his talent gained recognition. In 2001, he launched his eponymous label, quickly becoming a celebrity favorite.
His career soared with his first runway show (2002,) leading to collaborations with luxury retailers and brands. His designs feature dramatic draping, corsetry, and sculptural elegance. As creative director of Brooks Brothers (2014–20,) he modernized the brand’s women’s collection.
His publications include Zac Posen: 21 Years (2021,) a retrospective of his fashion journey, and Cooking with Zac (2017,) showcasing his culinary passion.
