Inspirational Quotes by William Henry Hadow (British Educationist)

Sir William Henry Hadow (1859–1937) was a British educational reformer, musicologist, and composer, known for shaping education policy and music scholarship. His work influenced British secondary education and music history studies.

Born in Ebrington, Gloucestershire, he studied at Malvern College and Worcester College-Oxford, later becoming Dean (1889.) He held academic positions at Durham University (1916–18) and the University of Sheffield (1919–30,) serving as Vice-Chancellor.

Hadow chaired committees that produced the Hadow Reports (1926–33,) advocating secondary education restructuring and modern schools for children over 11.

As a musicologist, he edited the six-volume Oxford History of Music (1901–05,) writing the fifth volume on C.P.E. Bach to Schubert. He co-edited The Oxford Treasury of English Literature (1907–08) with his sister Grace Hadow.

He also composed chamber music, including a Piano Sonata in G-sharp minor (1885) and a String Quartet (1886,) though many of his works were lost.
