Wayne Douglas Gretzky (b.1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, widely regarded as the greatest hockey player of all time. Known as “The Great One,” he holds numerous records in the National Hockey League (NHL) and is celebrated for his vision, skill, and leadership on the ice.

Born in Brantford, Ontario, Gretzky showed an early talent for hockey, playing on organized teams as a child.
