Victoria Abril (b.1959,) fully Victoria Mérida Rojas, is a renowned Spanish actress celebrated for her versatile roles in both cinema and television.
Born in Madrid, Abril began her acting career in the late 1970s and gained prominence in the 1980s with her standout performances in Spanish and international films. Her breakthrough came with Pedro Almodóvar’s ¡Átame! (1990,) where her role as a troubled young woman earned her critical acclaim and a significant fan base.
Abril’s other notable films include Kika (1993) and Talk to Her (2002,) also directed by Almodóvar, which won her several awards. In addition to her film career, Abril has made significant contributions to television, including a memorable role in the Spanish series Ciega a Citas (2008–09.) Her memoir is Saberes y saberes (2015.)
