Inspirational Quotes by Steven Brust (American Fantasy Novelist)

Steven Brust (b.1955,) fully Steven Karl Zoltán Brust, is an American fantasy and science fiction author best known for his Vlad Taltos series, set in the Dragaeran Empire. His works blend high fantasy, adventure, and wit, earning a dedicated readership.

Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Brust grew up in a Hungarian-American family with an early interest in literature and music. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked as a musician and computer programmer.

His most famous series, Vlad Taltos, began with Jhereg (1983,) introducing Vlad Taltos, an assassin navigating Dragaeran society. Other books in the series include Yendi (1984,) Teckla (1986,) and Issola (2001.) The series is planned to conclude with The Final Contract.

Brust also wrote the Khaavren Romances, inspired by Alexandre Dumas’The Three Musketeers, including The Phoenix Guards (1991) and Five Hundred Years After (1994.) His standalone novels include To Reign in Hell (1984,) Brokedown Palace (1986,) and The Incrementalists (2013,) co-authored with Skyler White.

Beyond writing, Brust is a musician and has recorded albums with Cats Laughing and Boiled in Lead.
