Inspirational Quotes by Spencer Johnson (American Physician)

Patrick Spencer Johnson (1938–2017) was an American author and physician best known for his influential self-help and business books. His bestselling fable Who Moved My Cheese? (1998) explores how people adapt to change through four characters navigating a maze in search of cheese, symbolizing life’s goals and challenges.

Born in Watertown, South Dakota, Johnson earned a psychology degree from the University of Southern California and later obtained a medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

He gained widespread recognition for Who Moved My Cheese? An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life (1998,) a global bestseller. He also co-authored The One Minute Manager (1982) with Ken Blanchard, a widely used leadership guide. His final book, Out of the Maze (2018,) is a sequel to Who Moved My Cheese?.

Beyond business books, Johnson wrote the ValueTales series in the 1970s, teaching moral lessons to children. Titles include The Value of Believing in Yourself: The Story of Louis Pasteur (1976) and The Value of Courage: The Story of Jackie Robinson (1977.)
