Robin McLaurin Williams (1951–2014) was an American actor, comedian, and writer known for his boundless energy and versatility. Renowned for his manic stand-up routines and diverse film roles, he won an Academy Award for his performance in Good Will Hunting (1997.)

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Williams discovered his passion for comedy at a young age and studied theater at Juilliard, where his improvisational talent stood out. He rose to fame as the quirky alien Mork in Mork & Mindy (1978–82,) showcasing his rapid-fire wit and creativity. His film career brought critical acclaim with Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) and Dead Poets Society (1989,) where his role as an inspirational teacher had a lasting impact.
