Inspirational Quotes by Robert Muller (United Nations Diplomat)

Dr. Robert Muller (1923–2010) was a Belgian-French United Nations civil servant who directed world government, global peace, and spirituality initiatives. He served with the U.N. for 40 years, rising to the rank of Assistant Secretary-General.

Born in Weismes, Belgium, Muller grew up in the Alsace-Lorraine region in France. During the Nazi occupation in France, he was a member of the French Resistance. After the war, Muller returned home, earned a Doctorate of Law from the University of Strasbourg, and started working at the newly-created United Nations. Over a 40-year career, Muller worked at the U.N. Development Programme, the World Food Programme, the U.N. Population Fund, and the World Youth Assembly.

Muller’s works include Most of All They Taught Me Happiness (1978,) What War Taught Me about Peace (1985,) First Lady of the World (1991,) and My Testament to the U.N. (1992.) Douglas Gillies wrote the biography Prophet—The Hatmaker’s Son—The Life of Robert Muller (2003.)
