Inspirational Quotes by Rita Coolidge (American Singer, Songwriter)

Rita Coolidge (b.1945) is an American singer and songwriter known for her contributions to pop, rock, and country music. She emerged from the hippie-rock and psychedelic blues era as a stylist who transformed everything from folk, rock, country, and soul into sensual pop music.

Born in Lafayette, Tennessee, Coolidge’s career took off in the 1970s with a series of successful albums and hit singles. She gained widespread recognition with her début solo album, Rita Coolidge, released in 1971, which showcased her distinctive, soulful voice.

Coolidge achieved major commercial success with her albums Anytime…Anywhere (1977) and Love Me Again (1978,) both of which were certified gold. Anytime…Anywhere included hit singles like “Higher and Higher” and “We’re All Alone,” which became her signature songs. She continued to release successful albums throughout the 1980s, including Never Let You Go (1983) and Inside the Fire (1984.)

In addition to her solo career, Coolidge is known for her collaborations with other artists. She was part of the duo “Kris and Rita” with her then-husband, Kris Kristofferson, releasing several albums including Full Moon (1973,) which won a Grammy. Her autobiography is Delta Lady (2016.)
