Inspirational Quotes by Rienk Kuiper (Dutch-American Theologian)

Rienk Bouke Kuiper (1886–1966) was a prominent Dutch-American theologian and educator known for his influential contributions to Reformed theology. Kuiper also served as the president of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary 1930–33.

Born in Garrelsweer, Netherlands, Kuiper immigrated to the United States as a young man. He pursued theological studies at Princeton Theological Seminary and later at the Free University of Amsterdam, where he earned his doctorate.

Kuiper began his career as a pastor in several Reformed churches before transitioning to academia. He served as a professor of systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia 1930–52. Kuiper was deeply involved in the Reformed tradition, contributing significantly to the development and dissemination of Reformed thought in America.

Kuiper’s notable publications include The Glorious Body of Christ (1967,) a posthumous work that offers a comprehensive exploration of ecclesiology, emphasizing the importance of the church as the body of Christ. Another significant work is God-Centered Evangelism (1961,) which outlines a Reformed approach to evangelism, stressing the sovereignty of God in the salvation process.
