Richard Vaughan Reeves (b.1969) is a British-American writer, scholar, and social scientist known for his work on inequality, intergenerational mobility, and liberal political thought. His roles in academia, journalism, and policy advising have shaped discussions on social change and economic opportunity.

Born in Peterborough, United Kingdom, he studied geography at Wadham College-Oxford, earning a PhD from the University of Warwick. His career includes serving as Director of Futures at The Work Foundation, Society Editor of The Observer, and Economics Correspondent for The Guardian. He advised Minister for Welfare Reform Frank Field and later became Director of Strategy for Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

Reeves is a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and President of the American Institute for Boys and Men. His research focuses on social mobility, inequality, and the middle class.
